We are recruiting an Assistant Cook at Caerphilly County Borough Council.

Working hours: 25 hours per week
Contract Type: Part Time, Fixed Term until 31st January 2026
Location: Ty Penallta

Team: Meals Direct

About the role :
Assistant cook Monday to Friday 6.30am to 11.30am

Please note: When absences occur, you will be required to cover as Cook In Charge When covering as cook in charge the hours and duties are as follows:
Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM – 3:30 PM
Duties: You’ll step in to cover the full responsibilities of the Cook in Charge during absences, ensuring continuity and quality in our service.

For the role, we ask that you have:

  • A Level 2 Food Safety Qualification
  • The Ability to work precisely and effectively under pressure
  • Experience of large scale catering.
