This apprenticeship placement will provide hands‑on experience within a multi‑disciplinary purchasing procurement and contract management team which supports putting in place and managing contracts for the Council for everything from vehicles and computer equipment to services like window cleaning and adult support to live at home.
The Apprentice will work alongside experienced procurement, contract management and finance professionals to support a wide range of activities in relation to the goods, services and works spend.
During the placement, the apprentice will gain practical experience in purchasing, procurement and contract management in the public sector and have the opportunity to interact with other core services, such as finance, legal and governance to understand the specifics of public sector procurement.
The role will be office based, and the successful candidate will be supported through a structured training programme that combines workplace learning with formal study.
This placement is designed to develop the apprentice’s technical knowledge, practical skills, and professional behaviours, providing a strong foundation for a long‑term career in this field.
Salary range
- £10.85 - £12.71 per hour
