    If you are ready to kickstart your career in ICT or looking for a career change, we have an exciting opportunity to join our ever-growing Staffordshire ICT team where you will ensure our staff and partners can access ICT services using leading edge technology to meet their needs.

    You will work alongside our ICT Support Officers who have a successful track record of supporting our Apprentices on the ICT Service Desk to provide 1st line assistance for all hardware and software issues and requests from our service users.

    In addition, we will support you to complete Level 3 ‘Microsoft Azure Cloud Support Specialist’ Apprenticeship with QA Limited where you will have access to support from a tutor as well as a peer group forum from QA’s web portal.

    The training and experience you gain can be tailored to the needs of the organisation, but also your preferences too so that you can choose which area of ICT you might want to become an expert in and build a successful career with us.

    Main Responsibilities

    This is a varied role which will include:

    • Taking calls from Staffordshire County Council customers throughout Staffordshire and beyond.
    • Thinking on your feet and solving issues first line.
    • Developing our self-service customer portal to improve the customer experience and drive down support demands, and much more!
    The Ideal Candidate

    If you have some work experience, that’s great but this is not essential. What is important is that you have a passion for ICT and you can show us that you are willing to always give your best, are ready to learn and strive for continual improvement. Working in ICT requires teamwork, organisational skills and a good level of competency using IT systems. We need you to show us you can be flexible in your approach to work as sometimes things can change and so you will need to be able to prioritise work and sometimes change tasks quickly.

    • Maths & English GCSE at Grade 4+ (or equivalent)
    • Hasn’t obtained a similar qualification at a similar level already
    • Willing to work towards the completion of Microsoft Azure Cloud Support Specialist (Level 3) Microsoft Azure Specialist Apprenticeship | Level 3 Cloud Support Apprenticeship |
    • Experience of supporting customers/clients with a range of needs
    • Cyber Security awareness
    • Some experience using Windows, Outlook, Microsoft Office
    • Commitment to making continuous improvements

    Final stage assessment will be held week commencing 6th July 2026.

    Recruitment Process

    First stage will be your application form where we will ask a couple of questions about why you have applied for the role and what you think you can bring. Please note we do not accept CV's and encourage you to complete all sections of the application form.

    If we receive a high volume of applicants the next stage may be an automated video interview where we will send you a couple of questions for you to reply to with recorded video answers.

    Final stage will be an in person assessment at our Stafford office which may include a quick task to test some of the skills needed for the basic elements of the role alongside interview questions.
