After School Club Playworker

Come and help make the end of the school day the best part of the day!

Whitegrove Primary School is looking for enthusiastic, caring and reliable Playworker to join our busy and popular After School Club.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working with children, loves getting involved and understands just how important play, fun and positive relationships are to children’s wellbeing.

No two afternoons are quite the same. One day you might be helping with arts and crafts, the next joining in with outdoor games, building an impressive LEGO creation, supporting imaginative play or simply sitting and chatting with a child about their day.

We are looking for people who will:

  • Create a happy, welcoming and inclusive environment for our children.

  • Enthusiastically join in with games, activities and creative play.

  • Supervise children safely and positively.

  • Build warm and professional relationships with children, families and colleagues.

  • Help prepare activities, snacks and equipment and support the day-to-day running of the club.

  • Encourage children to make choices, develop independence and, most importantly, have fun.

  • Be dependable, flexible and willing to work as part of a busy team.

You do not need to be an expert in everything – but you do need to bring energy, kindness, patience and a genuine enjoyment of working with children.

Why Whitegrove?

Whitegrove Primary School is a large and popular school in north-east Bracknell, where excellence and enjoyment are at the heart of everything we do.

Our children are friendly, enthusiastic and full of personality, and our After School Club provides them with a safe and enjoyable place to relax, play and spend time with friends at the end of their school day.

We have strong links with our local community, excellent support from our families and a friendly staff team who work hard to give our children the very best experiences possible.

If you are looking for a rewarding role where you can make a real difference to children's afternoons – and are not afraid to get involved in the fun – we would love to hear from you.

Applications will be considered as they are received and suitable candidates may be invited to interview before the closing date.

Closing date: 1 November 2026

Whitegrove Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful candidate will be subject to appropriate pre-employment and safer recruitment checks, including an Enhanced DBS check.
