The Role.

We are looking for a compassionate, motivated and practical Adult Social Care Worker to join our small and supportive Wellness Solutions team within Adult Mental Health Services on a fixed-term maternity cover basis.

Wellness Solutions is a preventative and recovery-focused service that provides short-term practical support to adults experiencing mental health difficulties. The service aims to help people maintain independence, improve wellbeing and reduce escalation of need within the community.

This is a varied and rewarding role where no two days are the same. You will work creatively and directly with individuals to overcome practical barriers impacting their recovery and day-to-day lives.

Unlike more traditional long-term case management roles, Wellness Solutions focuses on hands-on, solution-focused interventions that can make a meaningful difference in a short period of time.

Key Responsibilities:

- Supporting individuals to maintain or access suitable housing.

- Assisting with benefits, budgeting and debt management.

- Helping people regain routines and independence with daily living skills.

- Supporting individuals following discharge from hospital.

- Encouraging access to community activities and reducing social isolation.

- Working alongside mental health professionals to provide coordinated support.

This position is exempt under the provisions of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions) Order 1975 and is subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check.

Valid driving licence and own transport, or be able to provide alternative, suitable method of travel is an essential condition for this role.

The position is based at the Coast Resource Centre, Worle and requires travel across North Somerset. Occasional travel outside of area may be required.

Work Style.

At North Somerset Council, we offer a hybrid working environment based on four distinct work styles.

This role falls into the category of Flexible Worker which means it is predominantly community-based and involves supporting individuals in their own homes and local community settings across North Somerset.

The role is also supported by regular supervision, team meetings and collaborative working from the Coast Resource Centre in Worle.

Portable technology is provided to support mobile and flexible working.

About You.

We are looking for someone who:

- Has experience working with adults within social care, mental health or community services.

- Is passionate about strengths-based and recovery-focused practice.

- Can build positive and professional relationships with individuals experiencing mental health difficulties.

- Is organised, adaptable and able to work independently within the community.

- Has good communication and recording skills.

- Enjoys practical, person-centred work that promotes independence and wellbeing.

Experience of lone working, safeguarding and multi-agency working would be beneficial.
