Access to Education Assistant
We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated and enthusiastic colleague to join a small team within Middlesbrough Council’s Access to Education team.
You will provide a range of administrative support, helping to ensure that Middlesbrough’s children, families and schools enjoy a swift and smooth service from the Local Authority. Your key focus will be supporting the attendance team within the Elective Home Education division, helping to ensure key documentation relating to elective home education and child employment and entertainment licensing is correct and up to date. You will discuss individual children’s circumstances with parents, school leaders and other key stakeholders, and prepare reports for senior leaders within the Council.
The successful candidate will be a confident and accomplished communicator, have excellent IT skills, a willingness to learn and a strong desire to offer an outstanding service. Experience of working within a local authority environment would be an advantage but is not essential. You will need to be able to demonstrate extensive administrative experience and be accustomed to working in a busy office, under pressure and to tight deadlines. The ability to prioritise and multi task is essential.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone with the ambition and skills to support us in our shared goal of providing an outstanding level of service. If you are passionate about improving children’s life chances and enjoy working in a fast paced environment, you may be the right person for us.
For an informal discussion, please contact Lynn Mitchell, Attendance Manager on 01642 201846.
Please note Middlesbrough Council do not currently offer sponsorships.
We operate a Guaranteed Interview Scheme for applicants that can show they meet all the essential criteria and have indicated they have a disability, are a looked after young person, care leaver or a veteran.
