Initially the post holder will be working within refuse and recycling although this will be subject to change depending on service needs.
Post holders will be expected to cover day, evening, and night shifts as directed by Line Managers, and to take part in the weekend working rota, as well as bank holidays and special events. Previous experience in delivering a high standard of work with a good level of customer service and of productivity is essential, along with the ability to work well under pressure and deal with difficult situations.
We need team players who can organise, motivate, inspire, and problem-solve. You will be a good communicator with the required skills to support staff and residents when needed. Successful candidates must demonstrate that they have the ability to succeed in this role and the potential, given time, training, and support, to progress in the organisation. You should be flexible, reliable, dependable, and fully committed to delivering quality services, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality work and problem-solving.
The post holder is required to hold a full UK driving licence with no more than three penalty points.

Sefton Adult Social Care are looking to recruit a Social Worker to the Mental Health North Team based at Hartley Hospital in Southport, to support the delivery of the Adult Community Mental Health Services in the North of the borough.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced or newly qualified Social Worker with an interest in developing their skills and knowledge in a busy and exciting multidisciplinary work environment, working with a diverse and complex service user group.
The Mental Health Team North is co-located on the same site as health colleagues employed by Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust in the North Sefton Community Mental Health Team (CMHT), working closely with a range of different professionals including Community Psychiatric Nurses, Consultant Psychiatrists, Occupational Therapists and Clinical Psychologists.
The Mental Health Team North is responsible for undertaking community and hospital-based casework for individuals with severe and enduring mental health problems, who are currently under the care of secondary mental health services, or detained/admitted to psychiatric hospital wards across the Local and Mid-Mersey Divisions.
The successful post holders will be expected to have a competent skill set in undertaking a range of statutory interventions, including social care needs assessments under the Care Act 2014, Section 42 Safeguarding Enquiries, and a good working knowledge of both the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and the Mental Health Act 1983 (amended 2007).
PG Cert in Approved Mental Health Professional Practice (AMHP) and Best Interest Assessor (BIA) qualifications is desirable; however, these training opportunities will be offered to any successful applicant once they have resumed their post as an essential part of their training and development.
Once qualified, the successful applicants would be required to support the Sefton AMHP Service, including working on a duty AMHP rota in addition to their community-based casework and core duties within the team.
If appropriate, the Salary is supplemented by an AMHP allowance of £2,205 a year, paid on a pro rata basis.

We are excited to offer Approved Mental Health Professionals the opportunity to contribute to the delivery of our passionate and motivated AMHP Team.
We are looking for Approved Mental Health Professionals who are approved by a Local Authority, or willing to work to be approved by the Isle of Wight Council, to cover the function of undertaking Mental Health Act Assessments while also holding a complex mental health caseload as part of their substantive role within the Mental Health Team. AMHPs hold a combination of Section 117, Ministry of Justice, CTO, Section 29 and Care Act work/allocations.
The Isle of Wight AMHP Team works within a 24-hour on-call rota, including evening and weekend hours and bank holidays. Post-holders will also be expected to cover the Mental Health duty function when required for general enquiries about clients already known to our service for any new referrals to Adult Social Care to provide a point of contact for clients, families, and providers.

Job Title: Democratic Services Officer Starting Salary: £37,035 opportunity to progress to £40,476 pa (pro-rata for part-time) per annum (pro rata for part time) – pay award pending Hours: 37.0 Location: Stevenage/hybrid Contract Type: Permanent Directorate: Resources<h4>About the team</h4>The Democratic Services Team ensures proper and effective arrangements for all formal Council meetings in accordance with the law and the Council's Constitution, involving 17 different 'types' of meeting and over 130 meetings per year.The team provide agenda and report development and publication, event co-ordination including pre-meeting briefings, liaison with attendees and external participants, press and public, live broadcasting, electronic voting, constitutional and procedural advice, and minute production.The team also manage the Corporate Forward Plan of Key Decisions, the Council's petitions scheme, appointments to Outside Bodies, the Independent Panel on Member Allowances, the Disciplinary Statutory Officers Panel, the Council's programme of meetings and deal with constitutional and democracy issues such as Member Interests and the Member Code of Conduct.<h4>About the role</h4>We are looking for a talented, enthusiastic individual with a genuine interest in local democracy, good governance, the law as it relates to local authority meetings, decision-making and administration to join our Democratic Services team.As a democratic services officer you will play a key role in supporting the Council’s governance and decision-making processes, helping to ensure that formal decision making is open and transparent, provides clear accountability for the use of resources in delivering the Council’s priorities, and that council meetings are managed effectively and lawfully.<h4>About you</h4>Essential:<ul><li>Educated to degree level</li><li>Have excellent oral and written communication skills.</li><li>IT Skills, Microsoft Office and Excel</li><li>Forge and maintain relationships with a wide range of professionals.</li><li>Demonstrate the ability to work under pressure and be able to organise and prioritise your workload.</li><li>Be a Team player who enjoys variety and pace in a challenging environment.</li><li>Confidence in advising Members of the Council and senior officers on council meeting and decision-making processes, both in private and in public forum.</li></ul>Desirable:<ul><li>Be able to develop a comprehensive understanding of the Councils’ Constitution and statutory provisions relating to authority meetings.</li><li>Experience in managing meetings within a political or governance environment.</li><li>You will be expected to undertake the Association of Democratic Services Officer’s Certificate in Democratic Services Knowledge where this qualification is not already held.</li></ul>We welcome applications from candidates who currently reside in the UK with established proof of right to work documentation. We have an exciting opportunity available for a motivated and experienced Strategic Communications and Social Media Officer, to join us as a key member of the Communication, Engagement and Marketing team here at Wokingham Borough Council, on a part-time, permanent basis. This role is working 2 days a week.
We are looking for a dynamic professional able to lead strategic communications and create social media content to help us reach all our residents.
You will work with teams across the council to put together campaigns and lead on priorities that deliver real outcomes for residents and the organisation.
What you’ll work on will vary widely and could include marketing events to maximise income, explaining the council’s financial situation, making sure people know how to get help they are entitled to or keeping people informed about major projects or changes.
With local government under increasing funding pressure, it is vital that we target our communications where it is most effective – so you will also be involved in monitoring how effective we are and making improvements where possible.
We are looking for social media naturals who can generate content people want to engage with. Our Facebook presence is already among the most innovative and effective of local councils, but we want to push this further and improve across all platforms.
