We are currently recruiting a Commercial Caretaker/Cleaning Operative to assist in the operation of the Markets Complex and associated casual markets which could be outdoors.
Duties will include day-to-day cleaning, maintenance and caretaking of the Burnley Markets complex and any associated casual markets.&nbsp; You will also be responsible for the overall security of Burnley Markets undertakings and will assume responsibility for the building in the absence of the Senior Supervisory function.
It is essential you have experience of industrial cleaning and be able to lift and carry reasonably heavy objects.&nbsp; You must have the ability to work as part of a team and be able to work on your own with minimum supervision.
You must be literate and numerate and have good communication skills. Previous experience of operating fire alarm systems and the security of premises is essential.
Saturday working will be required and Sunday working may be required up to and including Christmas.

You’ll be a highly experienced professional with an extensive background in M&amp;E services, specifically in the installation, maintenance, and day-to-day management of relevant systems. A clear understanding of current laws, regulations, and statutory instruments related to consumer protection and Health and Safety is essential. You’ll ideally have extensive relevant work experience or HNC in Building Services Engineering (or equivalent) or be actively working towards this qualification.
We’re looking for someone with proven staff management and contract management skills, including the ability to confidently lead technical officers, external consultants, and contractors within a performance-driven culture. You will provide the Council with expert advice and guidance on aspects of all property related development work.
Responsibilities -

<li>Provide expertise and knowledge of, and provide advice and guidance and practical assistance on, local government law in the areas of property development work.</li>
<li>Conduct a full range of cases residential and commercial property cases to include undertaking advocacy in the Courts or Tribunals if required.</li>
<li>Utilising skills and experience gained within a similar position, you will report to the Principal Lawyer (Property &amp; Planning) and will have your own complex and varied caseload on matters including residential and commercial property, regeneration, homeownership and land transactions.</li>
<li>Act as a source of legal advice and support to any of the client Committees and Directorates as directed to cover the absence of colleagues.</li>
<li>To deputise for the Principal Lawyer where required.</li>
</ul>
To be successful in this role you will need to:
<ul>
<li>Hold a Solicitor, Barrister, FILEX or similar qualification</li>
<li>Have substantial experience of property development work, preferably in a local government context</li>
<li>Advocacy experience required but not essential</li>
<li>Excellent knowledge of the law and practice of property law</li>
<li>Conduct a case load within your area of expertise without supervision</li>
