This role is essential in helping us expand our network of accommodation providers and support households in transitioning from temporary or insecure housing to more permanent solutions.


The Role
As an Accommodation Procurement Officer, you will work closely with our Homelessness Prevention Officers to secure private rented sector accommodation for households at risk of homelessness.
Please note this is a 12-month fixed-term contract.
Your main responsibilities will include:

Key responsibilities:

<li>Support the Homes Manager to ensure that the service meet its statutory responsibility and is compliant with the Children’s Homes Regulations (2015).</li>
<li>Assist in the development of a professional team that performs to the highest standards, ensuring effective supervision, staff development and training.</li>
<li>Support the Homes Manager to exceed expectations at Inspection and Regulation 44 visits in terms of delivering positive outcomes for young people.</li>

<li>Line management for 8/9 members of staff over a working week, including 2 Senior Support workers, 4/5 Support workers and 1/2 Waking night staff.</li>

Candidate Requirements:

<li>Hold a professional qualification in Level 3 Residential Childcare or equivalent.</li>
<li>Extensive professional work experience in a management position in a children’s residential setting.</li>
<li>Knowledge of Children Act 1989 &amp; CH regulations and good standards of practice.</li>
<li>Demonstrate experience of working effectively with children, parents, colleagues, and partner agencies.</li>

About the Role

The successful candidate will assist in the analysis of submitted planning applications and supporting information, to determine the impact and inform the planning decision making process and provide advice and guidance to planning officers.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;
About You
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate they have the experience and qualifications to deal efficiently and effectively with Tree Preservation Orders, tree work applications, High Hedges and Conservation Area Notices of Intent. The successful candidate will be able to negotiate improvements to applications and attach appropriate conditions, balance the risk of significant harm arising from potential impacts upon protected trees, the amenity value of trees, and secure appropriate mitigation measures to maintain the landscape profile and character of the Borough.&nbsp;
Candidates will need to demonstrate that they have the ability and experience to interpret planning policy and relevant legislation and have excellent communication and organisational skills.&nbsp;&nbsp;
