This is a key role in delivering targeted, coordinated interventions to parents, carers, and families with children and young people aged 0–25.
The targeted interventions will help parents and carers develop the skills and confidence they need to support their children’s wellbeing and development. You will deliver hands-on parenting support and therapeutic interventions using a relationship-based approach, aiming to improve outcomes for the whole family. You will also support parents in managing challenging behaviour and preventing escalation, helping them respond confidently and constructively to complex situations at home.
You will also undertake holistic child exploitation assessments and lead on the development and delivery of outcome-focused family plans. You will work closely with families, professionals, and partner agencies to reduce harms associated with exploitation, crime, and anti-social behaviour. In this role, you will be expected to contribute to safeguarding processes and take the lead in coordinating support, ensuring services are responsive and effective.
A key aspect of the role is working in partnership with the police and other agencies to identify and respond to threats and risks in the community. This includes supporting intelligence gathering, mapping activity, and attending multi-agency forums to ensure timely action and joined-up working.
The role will require flexibility, including the ability to work some evenings and weekends to meet the needs of children and families.

About the Role:
As the Response Counselling Manager, you will provide clinical supervision, ensuring the delivery of high-quality mental health services, and supporting the professional development of your team. You will play a key role in the strategic growth and enhancement of our services, ensuring we continue to meet the needs of the young people we serve. You will oversee the coordination of counselling and drop-in services, ensuring seamless support for young people accessing our services.
This role is a key contributor to the strategic planning and development of the Response Counselling and Drop-In services, identifying opportunities for growth and improvement. You will also be responsible for ensuring compliance with all legal and regulatory standards is met, maintaining a safe and confidential environment for safeguarding young people.
About the Candidate:
You will hold a relevant qualification in counselling at level 5 or above with proven experience in managing mental health services, preferably with a focus on youth counselling or similar settings. The successful candidate will be a strategic thinker and have strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and support a diverse team.
You will have extensive experience in providing clinical supervision and working with moderate to severe mental health cases. Therefore, you’ll have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with young people, staff, and external stakeholders.

Making A Difference as a Contact Cares Advisor in the Adult Social Services Department. St Helens Cares is an innovative approach to delivering Health and Social Care in St Helens; bringing together a wide range of public and community service organisations to work in partnership, with a united goal of improving people’s lives and improving the place as a whole. Contact Cares; has streamlined and simplified the way residents access health and social care services from nursing assessment to social care; reablement to audiology, safeguarding to occupational therapy. Contact Cares is also playing a vital role in the response to the Covid-19 pandemic, supporting vulnerable residents to access the relevant services in times of uncertainty and contributing to the local and regional Test and Trace Service. Based at Nightingale House (adjacent to Whiston Hospital), our Contact Cares Advisers (Customer Service Centre) will operate within a multi-disciplinary health and social care setting from 8am to 10pm, 365 days per year, providing support, guidance, signposting and access to services at the first point of contact. Your role will be to provide a prompt, effective and efficient referral and initial assessment service to inbound customer enquiries. You will have experience of working in a customer focussed environment with confident and clear communication skills. You will also be resilient and able to appropriately deal with sensitive, emotive and challenging health and social care matters. You will work on a shift rota which operates between 8am and 10pm, including weekends (4 weeks in 14 weeks) and bank holidays. Knowsley Shared Lives Scheme, which is part of Knowsley Council, is currently recruiting Shared Lives Carers.&nbsp; Could you welcome a person with a care or support need in to your own home?&nbsp;
This may suit you if you are looking for a rewarding challenge with a payment of between £500 - £600 per week and you wish to work from home.&nbsp;
One of the services the scheme provides is long term support where someone would live with you as part of your family - you would need to live within the Knowsley Boundary to provide this type of support.&nbsp;
The scheme also provides respite, where someone would stay with you from one night up to 3 months and there is no requirement to live in Knowsley to provide this service.&nbsp; You will receive full training for your role and support from a team of Shared Lives Workers. The scheme will match you with someone who they feel you could support, who may have similar interest’s likes and preferences to yourself.&nbsp; Experience of providing care would be desired but it is not essential.&nbsp;&nbsp;
All applicants will undertake an assessment which will include character employer and GP references, a Disclosure and Barring Service Check and a health and safety check on your property. Your assessment will be approved by an independent panel.&nbsp;
