You’ll provide supervision, professional guidance, and leadership to social workers and assistant practitioners, while also maintaining a small, complex caseload.Key responsibilities include:<ul><li>Supporting the Team Manager in leading and developing the team to deliver excellent practice.</li><li>Providing supervision, performance management, and professional guidance to staff.</li><li>Overseeing complex assessments, care planning, and case management for adults with significant mental health and social care needs.</li><li>Acting as a Safeguarding Adults Manager, leading investigations and ensuring robust safeguarding practice.</li><li>Promoting effective partnership working across health, social care, and community networks.</li><li>Contributing to service improvement initiatives and quality assurance processes.</li></ul>About You:We’re looking for an experienced and motivated professional who can balance people leadership with frontline expertise. You’ll be confident in supporting others, managing complexity, and championing best practice.You will have:<ul><li>A Social Work qualification and registration with Social Work England.</li><li>Strong knowledge of Adult Social Care legislation, mental health practice, and safeguarding frameworks.</li><li>Proven experience supervising and developing staff within a busy social care environment.</li><li>Excellent skills in assessment, case management, and risk management.</li><li>A commitment to strengths-based, person-centred, and anti-discriminatory practice.</li></ul>About the Team:The Care and Support Team (CAST) is part of Southwark Council’s Adult Social Care division, delivering specialist mental health services for adults with complex needs.
