We are looking for an experienced Cemetery Manager to lead a small, dedicated team.
You will be responsible for the first-class delivery of cemetery services in Epsom Cemetery and two closed churchyards in the borough, ensuring a high quality and compassionate service for the bereaved.
As the main point of contact for our customers, you will be required to help them navigate our services during an emotionally charged period of their lives.
You will also be responsible for the supervision of an experienced team of grounds maintenance staff to ensure that Epsom Cemetery and the closed churchyards are well maintained.&nbsp;
In addition to excellent administrative, budgetary, and supervisory skills, you will ideally hold an ICCM qualification in Cemetery Law and be willing to undertake industry-specific training.

Would you like to complete a Level 4 Revenues and Welfare Benefits apprenticeship whilst working as a Benefit Advisor? Are you enthusiastic, passionate and keen to learn? You will be working with an established team of Welfare Benefit experts and providing an efficient, effective and high quality service, supporting customers across a range of channels.
We are looking for a full-time Apprentice Welfare Benefit Advisor to deliver information, guidance on Housing Benefits and Council Tax Support, Discretionary payments and when necessary, other council and Department for Work and Pensions services.
About the role This role as a Apprentice Welfare Benefit Advisor is varied and an integral part of our team, providing valuable daily support to our fast-paced service. You will be expected to deliver excellent customer service via telephone, in writing and face to face, in order to provide, collect and process information.
You will also be providing support across the Benefits service by:
- Checking new claims and maintaining existing claims
- processing applications for discretionary awards
- providing welfare advice and support
- taking payments and arranging repayments
- working with our Financial Inclusion officer to recover overpayments
- completing ad-hoc administration duties.
About you
The candidate will have a keen sense of accuracy and be adept at learning a wide range of systems in order to be as effective as possible when handling enquiries and making decisions on entitlement.
To be successful in this role we expect you to be a keen learner and willing to learn from colleagues, accept feedback in a positive way, show initiative and contribute to developing processes. Be able to take responsibility of your own work at the same time as being part of the wider team. IT skills such as the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint) are essential. Training will be provided on internal systems.

We have an exciting opportunity available for a motivated and experienced Strategic Communications and Social Media Officer, to join us as a key member of the Communication, Engagement and Marketing team here at Wokingham Borough Council, on a part-time, permanent basis. The Duty and Assessment team acts as the front door for Children’s Social Care and carries out short term work. Working alongside and directly with children, young people, and their families.

<h3>Key responsibilities...</h3>
<ul>
<li>To carry out needs led child focused assessments which include outcome focused plans.</li>
<li>To work alongside other professionals and partner agencies in assessing children in need and undertake child protection enquiries.</li>
<li>To be the allocated Social Worker for duty caseload of single assessments under S17 and S47 investigations, with some short-term work.</li>
<li>To take part in the duty system responding to child protection concerns.</li>
<li>To develop and maintain accurate case records and comply with the department's policies, procedures and guidelines including data protection and GDPR.</li>
<li>To participate in regular reflective supervision and be able to set clear goals and intervention strategies.</li>
</ul>
We use the Family Safeguarding Model in our approach to collaborate with families to keep them together, where it is safe to do so, supported by Motivational Interviewing (MI). This approach empowers families, children, and young people, enabling parents to make positive changes that lead to improved outcomes for their children and enhance their own wellbeing.
