You’ll also support service improvements and ensure a compassionate approach to working with bereaved families.About you You’re an experienced leader with a strong background in mortuary or coronial services, and a deep understanding of relevant legislation. You’re confident managing teams, budgets, and service transformation, and you communicate sensitively and effectively. A degree-level qualification, full UK driving licence, and flexibility to work out-of-hours are essential. We’re looking for a dynamic and data-savvy Business Analyst to join our Transformation Team within the Communities and Opportunities Directorate. This is a pivotal role, supporting service redesign, digital innovation and improved outcomes for residents. You’ll have a hands-on approach and work across Housing, Community Safety &amp; Engagement and Libraries &amp; Community Hubs to drive meaningful change through insight and collaboration.&nbsp;

You are a confident and collaborative professional with the following skills and experience:&nbsp;

<li>Proven experience as a Business Analyst, ideally in public sector or transformation settings</li>
<li>Strong proficiency in Power BI, including data modelling and dashboard design</li>
<li>Experience of using Power Apps to create user-friendly, low code solutions&nbsp;</li>
<li>Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills</li>
<li>Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a high pressured environment, managing conflicting priorities</li>
<li>Familiarity with project management principles and methodologies</li>
<li>A proactive, self-starting approach with a commitment to continuously improve the services to residents</li>
</ul>
Desirable skills and experience:&nbsp;

<li>Knowledge of Housing, Community Safety &amp; Engagement, Library &amp; Community services or local authority operations</li>

<h2>About the role</h2>
West Northamptonshire Council is currently seeking to appoint an Estates Surveyor into its Property Strategy and Estates team. As a member of the team, the Estates Surveyor will have the opportunity to work on an extremely varied and diverse property portfolio. The role will include the delivery of high-profile property management activities including lease renewals, rent reviews, title disputes etc which have a significant degree of legal complexity as well asset disposals and acquisitions, working.
This is an exciting opportunity to join the team at West Northamptonshire Council. You will support the Councils objectives of shaping a Property Strategy and Estates function that will be an example of best practice, and one that will deliver the best outcomes for the residents of the West Northamptonshire.
<h2>Additional information</h2>
You’ll bring with you a wealth of experience which will enable you to ensure the efficient and cost-effective running of operational, income producing and strategic sites and individual assets to minimise outgoings and maximise income. Your strong negotiation skills will aid the acquisition and disposal of property, rights, and licences, including compensation claims, as directed. You’ll provide invaluable estates support on legal and contract issues.
Excellent project management skills are essential as you’ll manage complex projects on behalf of the Council and other stakeholders and will plan, identify, and anticipate challenges and obstacles within those projects and work with stakeholders. Your strong communication skills will enable you to represent the team as an interface between Tenants and the Council on operational property matters, and to represent the interests of key stakeholders and to provide good quality professional advice on estate management and valuation matters, and to advise colleagues on professional and technical issues
You will:
<ul>
<li>Ideally be educated to Degree level or equivalent in an Estates Management or similar discipline</li>
<li>Be a Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (or equivalent professional qualification)</li>
<li>Have thorough post-qualification professional experience in urban /rural estate management, including property management, valuations (including Fixed Asset Valuations for accounting purposes) and transactions</li>
<li>Have experience of dealing with complex and high-profile property cases in the public sector</li>
<li>Have experience of formal project management techniques, Equality and Diversity issues and governance within a public sector environment</li>
