About the role
The post holder will be responsible for building effective strategic relationships on behalf of the Mayor of London and the Greater London Authority (GLA). The role will support the Mayoral Director: Government, Political and Strategic Engagement and their team, working to ensure public affairs priorities set by the Mayor’s office are met. They will work across the GLA Group, including supporting the GLA Corporate Management Team.
The post holder will oversee the further development of a partnership-based approach to tackling London’s challenges – one that leverages the convening powers of the Mayor and the GLA, drawing on ‘mission based’ approaches. In this way the post holder will ensure that stakeholder relationships are maintained, and that there are effective communications and engagement in the work with GLA senior officers.
They will act as an advocate, and champion for this approach across the GLA, ensuring continued, effective joint working with London Councils and partners building on strong existing relationship.
About you

The Operational Services Division of Epsom &amp; Ewell Borough Council is looking for dedicated individuals to drive and supervise refuse and recycling collection vehicles, ensuring a timely, high quality, safe, friendly and efficient service to our residents.
Epsom &amp; Ewell Borough Council collects almost 120,000 refuse and recycling containers each week.&nbsp; Over half of all collected waste is recycled. Social Care Officer £37,068 - £38,058 per annum About the Role An exciting opportunity has arisen for a newly created Social Care Officer post within the Mental Health Adult Social Care Access Team (MHASCAT). MHASCAT is the front door service for all new referrals into mental health social services which sits within the Primary Care Networks (PCN) space in conjunction with our health colleagues. We are looking for a Social Care Officer who wants to develop their skills with case work under the Care Act 2014, undertaking assessments of need, completing support plans and working with residents and carers to maximize independence and improve well-being, ascertaining the level of need and signposting as appropriate. Other duties include but are not limited to, daily screening of all new referrals that come through our Duty system. This includes referrals from health (including GP’s and hospitals), other teams within LBN such as Children’s Services and housing, out of borough cases that may require thorough background research, and self-referrals from residents and their carers and families. You will also take phone calls from the general public, giving advice to residents and families about what support is available to them within LBN social services as well as have knowledge of charities and other partner organisations within Newham. As a Social Care Officer, you will need to be able to make judgement calls with your line manager on the appropriateness of the referral, the type of support that you feel the resident requires, and signpost accordingly. Most of the role will be over the telephone and virtually, however you may be asked to undertake emergency home visits if and when required. There is a strong commitment to supporting professional development, to improve services and outcomes for vulnerable people. We are looking for a team member who has a degree in Building Surveying or equivalent construction discipline and has corporate full membership of either MRICS, MCABE or MCIOB and must be registered at either Class 2 or 3 with the Building Safety Regulator .
You must be self-motivated, be able to work on own initiative and have broad experience in Building Control legislation and enforcement processes. You must have proven excellent verbal and written communication skills.
You will need to be a registered building inspector with the Building Safety Regulator, minimum class 2 category A.
