Hastings Borough Council is seeking an experienced Programme Manager work with the interim board on the Plan for Neighbourhoods programme.
The Plan for Neighbourhoods is an exciting opportunity for Hastings to receive £20 million of investment from the Government, driven by the local community. An interim Hastings Board has been established to lead on the programme and will be responsible for developing the Plan for Neighbourhoods, a 10-year vision which clearly identifies the longer-term priorities for Hastings and 4-year Investment Plan.
The Board, together with the Programme Manager, needs to drive priorities from a range of investment options in conjunction with the local community and statutory bodies.&nbsp;
The programme has a 75% capital 25% revenue monetary split. It is expected the programme of activities and interventions will take a place-based approach, empowering and working with local communities to shape, influence and deliver the range of investment activities to achieve positive change in Hastings neighbourhoods. The interventions selected could be delivered with a mix of partners including from the community, voluntary, statutory and private sector organisations.&nbsp;

To succeed as Developer Analyst, you will have the skills to deliver a range of dynamic solutions, and the drive to investigate and resolve technical challenges. You will have held a similar Developer Analyst or Application Support role, dealing with a broad range of business applications, online forms development and integrating systems using APIs and SFTP.&nbsp;&nbsp;You will have experience of database administration (ideally SQL Server) and an understanding of cloud-based infrastructure and applications, including Software as a Service. As our Major Projects Principal Planning Officer, you will provide appropriate advice on all major Development Management matters including the provision of appropriate pre-application advice and the effective and efficient processing of applications for planning permission and all other related consents in respect of major applications as well those considered complex, controversial and/or raising new aspects of planning policy.
We are looking for an individual with a planning or similar degree and significant Development Management experience along with outstanding communication and customer service skills, knowledge and understanding of planning legislation, case law and policy with experience of presenting to Planning Committees.
While Adur &amp; Worthing Councils largely operate joint services, for planning purposes Adur District Council and Worthing Borough Council remain 2 separate planning authorities with their own Local Plans and separate Planning Committee. Working for the Councils therefore provides the unique experience of dealing with 2 individual areas with some differing planning priorities but both striving to provide high quality development while maintaining an attractive environment for our residents. The work is therefore varied and rewarding and the small size of our team offers the opportunity to be at the forefront of important planning decisions.

Wealden District Council owns its own stock and therefore we work within a very busy environment nominating between 500 and 800 times per year. Working within the Council’s Housing team, you will be responsible for the day to day administration of the Housing Register and Allocations scheme, including making decisions and conducting investigations to determine eligibility for, and allocating, social housing.&nbsp;
What will you be doing?
<ul>
<li>Ensuring that all new applicants are registered, advertise properties, shortlist and re-assess successful applicants and nominate successful applicants to Housing Management or Registered Providers</li>
<li>Liaising with clients who are experiencing difficulties with their applications to ensure that they can join the register.</li>
<li>Maintaining good working relationships with landlords regarding tenancies</li>
<li>Maintaining records and obtaining statistical or performance information, routine correspondence, assistance and support to the Housing Options team</li>
</ul>
What do you need?
<ul>
<li>The ability to understand, interpret and convey complex information and proven experience of communicating with challenging customers.</li>
<li>Good ICT skills</li>
<li>Previous experience of the software system Locata and Allocations in a busy social housing environment, and experience of processing and assessing housing applications</li>
<li>Experience of advertising and shortlisting properties under a choice-based lettings scheme and knowledge of local government services would be advantageous.</li>
</ul>
