This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in improving living conditions for our residents by tackling one of the most pressing issues in social housing. This is a key role focused on improving the condition and safety of our housing stock while delivering a high-quality, resident-focused service. As a Specialist Damp &amp; Mould Surveyor, you will be responsible for assessing and resolving damp, mould, and associated maintenance issues across our housing portfolio. You will play a critical part in supporting our Repairs Partnering Team, ensuring that contractors, consultants, and partner agencies deliver repairs to the highest standards meeting all compliance, specification, scheduling, and budgetary requirements. &nbsp; <a href="https://fs-filestore-eu.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/Waltham_Forest/govRoleProfiles/Role%20Profile%20-%20Damp%20and%20Mould%20Surveyor%20(1846)%20.pdf" target="_blank">&gt;&gt; Click here to download the role profile &lt;&lt;&nbsp;</a> Key Responsibilities:&nbsp; <ul> <li>Where required, design and specify works, obtain estimates, oversee delivery, monitor expenditure, and complete sign off.</li> <li>High level of resident engagement to understand and document their concerns regarding their home.</li> <li>To collaborate with housing and legal teams in addressing potential disputes related to disrepair claims.&nbsp;</li> <li>To undertake inspections and audits of partnering contractors particularly in relation to disrepair. Reviewing completed work against the schedule and contractor invoices and resolving issues as necessary.</li> <li>To provide management reports and schedules relating to any deficiencies identified, and when necessary, certify rectification of snagging of items.&nbsp;</li> <li>Work closely with the Repairs Partnering team ensuring all relevant legislation is being adhered to. Ensure safety, quality, and productivity assessments are carried out so that all work complies with current codes of practice, standards, and legislation, particularly health and safety.</li> <li>Where required, design and specify works, obtain estimates, oversee delivery, monitor expenditure, and complete sign off.</li> <li>As required support other surveying functions within Housing Assets.&nbsp;</li> <li>Undertake / support consultation procedures. Identify issues, resolving as appropriate and escalating complex problems if necessary.</li> <li>Collate process and analyse complex information. Ensure all required records and information are maintained correctly.&nbsp;&nbsp;</li> <li>Challenge customers’ practice and minimise risk, referring concerns to line manager.</li> <li>Conducting regular site visits and maintaining comprehensive digital records.</li> <li>Producing detailed reports and updating the asset management database.</li> <li>Taking a proactive approach to addressing disrepair cases, always putting residents at the centre of the service.</li> <li>Collaborating closely with our Building Safety Operations and Building Safety Compliance teams to ensure homes meet all safety regulations and compliance obligations.</li> <li>This is an exciting opportunity to make a tangible difference to the lives of our residents and to contribute to our ongoing commitment to safe, sustainable, and well-maintained homes.</li> </ul> Knowledge, Skills and Experience:&nbsp; <ul> <li>Experience of administering building contracts.&nbsp;</li> <li>Experience of administering partnering contracts.&nbsp;</li> <li>Experience of building surveying in residential environment</li> <li>Experience of Stock Condition Surveys</li> <li>Experience of HHSRS assessments</li> <li>Experience of liaising with residents</li> <li>Knowledge of Asbestos Regulations.</li> <li>Housing legislation and regulations with particular reference to repairs, maintenance</li> <li>Project Management Skills</li> <li>Applying Health &amp; Safety, Customer Care and Communications policies appropriately</li> <li>IT literate, particularly with Microsoft Office, Word, Excel.</li> <li>Good report writing skills</li> </ul> Indicative Qualifications and Requirements:&nbsp; <ul> <li>Relevant Building qualification, NVQ, ONC, Degree or equivalent or vocational qualification in relevant subject or area</li> <li>Evidence of Continuous Professional Development</li> <li>Experience in working for a social housing landlord in either a local authority or a housing associatio</li> </ul> Terms and conditions:&nbsp; The below terms and conditions apply to this role:&nbsp; Satisfactory employment references and CIFAS identity checks;&nbsp; Satisfactory declaration of interest;&nbsp; Satisfactory standard DBS check;&nbsp; Suitable driver’s license desired;&nbsp; As a public authority, we must ensure that members of staff in public-facing roles are able to speak fluent English.
