Fixed term 6 month contract
We’re looking for a Facilities Officer to join our Land and Property team. This role is key to delivering facilities services across our headquarters, ensuring a safe and secure environment for staff and tenants.
You’ll carry out a wide range of internal and external compliance work at Kilworthy Park, with occasional visits to other sites.&nbsp; It is a mixture of admin, site and safety checks while being the person staff and tenants go to for assistance.&nbsp; You’ll also act as a key holder and take part in the voluntary out-of-hours on-call rota to support emergencies and operational continuity.
This is a fast-paced, reactive role where you’ll help the team meet objectives on time, within budget, and to agreed standards. Strong collaboration and adaptability are essential, along with a commitment to high-quality outcomes and excellent customer service.

We are looking for three Apprentices as part of the National Lottery Heritage Fund supported, Life on the Edge Project (LotE). LotE Apprentices will help create, restore and conserve important habitats on the South Devon coast, working towards securing a future for 30 rare and threatened invertebrates which call South Devon home. Species include Mediterranean&nbsp;oil beetle, Long-horned bee and the rarest bee in Britain, the Six-banded nomad bee. They will work towards a Level 2 Countryside Worker qualification, with our partner training provider.
Based with our project partners responsible for countryside management, the, apprentices will be hosted by local Ranger teams. Working at countryside sites, along the South Devon Coast, the LotE apprentices will have a fantastic insight into the world of nature conservation, whilst improving access and inspiring others about nature.
We urge applicants to apply who meet the scheme requirements and have a passion for the natural world and enthusiasm to learn more about how to conserve it. We are looking for 7.5T drivers/loaders with a valid C1 licence and current CPC certificate for our refuse collection service working out of Torr Quarry Depot in Kingsbridge. Waste and recycling experience is great, but enthusiasm counts for a lot so don’t be put off. It’s a fit job walking up to 10 miles a day when not driving, so you’ll certainly&nbsp;have your daily step count covered! Rain or shine and the occasional snow, the wheels keep on turning, so you must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.&nbsp;
So, what else are we looking for? To be successful, you would be driving a refuse collection vehicle used for kerbside wheeled bins and box recycling collections and collecting waste and recycling when required.
Safety comes first! You would be responsible for your colleagues, other road users and your vehicle. You also need to record accurately the work you have done and report any collection issues onto a mobile tablet that we will provide. Don’t worry though because training will be provided.

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Parking Department to join our well-established Parking Team as a Civil Enforcement Officer. We are looking for confident, enthusiastic candidates to help patrol our local car parks within the South Hams District.
The successful applicant must have the ability to work on their own and as part of a team. You&nbsp;should&nbsp;be experienced in handling complex and challenging situations in a calm and professional manner. The role is an advocate for the Council helping the local community and other council departments and the successful candidate will need good interpersonal skills and a flexible approach.
