This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic Environmental Services Monitoring Officer to join our Environmental Services team. The Role: This role will report into the Waste &amp; Cleansing Contracts Manager and will carry out the day to day monitoring of the council’s recycling, waste and cleansing service contracts for an allocated geographical area and liaise with contractors to resolve issues. Your role will involve:
<ul>
<li>Identifying service failures and issues and taking appropriate action.</li>
<li>Investigating and responding to service delivery complaints and resolving or escalating as required.</li>
<li>Ensuring performance data is recorded to support decision-making and contract management.</li>
<li>Assisting in the monitoring of leisure and grounds maintenance contracts.</li>
<li>Providing administration and data support for contracts and projects.</li>
<li>Providing advice and information to any local groups, individuals, council officers and members, landowners and other organisations.</li>
<li>Supporting activity to increase the involvement of residents, schools and community groups in looking after their areas so that cleaner and greener neighbourhoods are self-sustaining.</li>
</ul>
 What we are looking for: 
<ul>
<li>A good understanding of environmental services, including recycling and waste management.</li>
<li>Ability to deal with difficult situations calmly and effectively.</li>
<li>Experience of working with suppliers monitoring the effectiveness of contracts.</li>
<li>The ability to work with minimal supervision in a busy environment whilst prioritising and organising a varying workload.</li>
<li>Experience of investigating and responding to complaints and service requests.</li>
<li>Excellent communication skills, in person and in writing.</li>

The Role:
You will develop innovative and effective engagement strategies to drive behaviour change by engaging directly with the service provider, residents and businesses to increase recycling, reduce waste and raise cleansing awareness, enabling the council to meet government and local recycling, cleansing and carbon targets. You will report to the Waste &amp; Cleansing Contracts Manager.
Your role will involve:
<ul>
<li>Researching, designing, coordinating and implementing a programme of tailor-made engagement strategies and initiatives relating to all aspects of recycling, waste minimisation and street cleansing to deliver sustained behaviour change.</li>
<li>Developing and piloting approaches to engagement to effect behaviour change in local communities, creating bespoke plans to meet local needs across the borough and ensuring ambitious waste reduction and increased recycling goals are met.</li>
<li>Monitoring and evaluating the success of engagement strategy delivery, addressing areas of concern promptly and making recommendations for continuous improvements.</li>
<li>Supporting activity to increase the involvement of residents, schools and community groups in looking after their areas so that cleaner and greener neighbourhoods are self-sustaining.</li>

We complete care needs assessments, arrange care packages (both community and care home settings), care reviews, adult safeguarding, mental capacity assessments and representing the Council at various multi-disciplinary meetings.&nbsp;

As a Senior Social Worker, you will deliver statutory services to residents with eligible care needs by conducting outcome-focused assessments, creating tailored care plans, and ensuring their effective implementation.
