London Resilience Unit supports the work of London's key agencies in assessing risks, working to reduce the likelihood or impact of those risks and, where risk can't be eliminated, preparing arrangements to respond, recover and learn from emergencies.
About the role

In this exciting and impactful role, you’ll work at the heart of London’s resilience efforts, collaborating with key stakeholders across the&nbsp;London Resilience Partnership (involving over 170 organisations), to ensure the city is ready to respond to and recover from emerging risks.
You’ll play a key role in localising national risks and planning assumptions to shape multi-agency emergency plans that reflect London’s unique risk landscape. You will be involved in designing and supporting exercises to test those plans and London’s preparedness as well as capturing lessons from exercises and real incidents, working with partners to embed meaningful change. Your work will also contribute to governance and assurance processes, helping to maintain confidence that London is ready to respond effectively to any emergency.
You will also be part of the London Resilience Unit’s on-call team, supporting multi-agency strategic coordination in response to incidents in London. This will involve working unsociable hours from time to time and qualifies for an on-call allowance payment.
What your day will look like
In this role, you will:
<ul>
<li>Lead on the development and maintenance of multi-agency plans, policies and procedures.</li>
<li>Take a proactive role in ensuring continued improvement of resilience services, working closely with the London Resilience Manager on specific policy issues.</li>
<li>Deliver work on specific policy areas which may include multi-agency risk assessment, training, exercising, learning and improvement, and assurance of emergency response capabilities.</li>
<li>Develop and prepare reports for multi-agency audiences, based on research, consultation and analysis.</li>
<li>Support and chair multi-agency meetings and teleconferences as required within your specific work areas.</li>
<li>Build strong and effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels of seniority.</li>
<li>Promote the work of the Partnership through the London Resilience Unit and provide resilience expertise, advice and support to the London Resilience Partnership and wider stakeholders.</li>
<li>Respond to emergencies as part of the London Resilience Unit’s response function (operational 24 hours a day, 365 days a year), in support of the London Resilience Partnership’s, and London local authorities’ strategic coordination arrangements.</li>

Skills, knowledge and experience
To be considered for the role you must meet the following&nbsp;essential criteria:

<li>Proven experience of planning and delivering projects, and co-ordinating the work of a range of stakeholders, ideally within resilience, emergency planning or other relevant policy area.</li>
<li>An understanding of multi-agency working and the role of local and central government, the emergency services, health, voluntary and community, transport, and utility sectors.</li>
<li>Experience of working across organisational boundaries, ideally with an understanding of London’s resilience governance and risk landscape.</li>
<li>Demonstrated ability to research, analyse and synthesise information from multiple sources, and convey this in a range of formats suitable for a variety of audiences.</li>
<li>Excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to build strong working relationships with multi-agency partners at all levels.</li>

About The Role
This is an exciting opportunity to join our Homelessness, Independence and Preventative Services which adopts a preventative approach across the housing, health and social care agendas. You must be professional, energetic and enthusiastic as we are interested in what you can bring to help us improve and develop our services to support some of our most vulnerable residents. We are looking for someone to work in housing allocations to allocate council properties and to provide nominations to Registered Providers.
You are highly organised to allocate permanent council accommodation and nominate to Registered Providers to ensure properties are let as soon as practicably possible. You will carry out viewings and sign-up new tenancies, taking account of individual customer needs. You provide information, advice and support with moving arrangements including advice and assistance regarding benefits and access to financial support.
You will engage with our service users via a combination of customer facing contact via telephone and email, ensuring customer records are accurate and up to date at all times. You are highly motivated to to promote our service and actively participate in developing service improvement across the Homelessness, Independence and Preventatives Services. About The Team You’ll Be Working In
This is an exciting and busy role in the Allocations team. The service is developing and progressing our agenda to reduce the use of temporary accommodation and achieve more upstream prevention outcomes.
1.You are a frontline professional delivering a first class, modern and flexible service to some of the most vulnerable people in the Borough. You are outcome focussed and seek to achieve successful outcomes by implementing bespoke solutions to complex problems.
2.You will carry out allocations, viewings, lettings and nominations to minimise void times, ensuring adherence to the Council’s Allocations Policy and associated procedures.

The Post

We have received funding from Ministry of, Housing, Communities and Local Government for a full time Rough Sleeper Navigator positions to work with rough sleepers to navigate pathways for a life away from the streets. &nbsp;
The post holder will act as a single point of contact for rough sleepers and work with this client group in a person-centred way to ensure sustainable outcomes around housing are achieved.
The postholder must have comprehensive and up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation, policy and procedures on homelessness in order to provide innovative advice and solutions when dealing with complex cases. Chelmsford City Council is looking for enthusiastic and committed people to help us maintain a quality Benefits service. Communications Team support service to promote the work of the Assembly through press office, social media, publicity and events.
The London Assembly Labour Group support the work of the 11 Labour Assembly Members in representing their constituents, scrutinising the work of the Mayor and championing the needs of Londoners.
We achieve this by delivering three main functions:

<li>Dedicated Research and Support Officers act as stakeholder engagement specialists for the Labour Group, dealing with casework, diary management and events.</li>
<li>Senior Researchers provide policy support for the Labour Group across areas such as economy, environment, fire, health, housing policing, transport etc.</li>
<li>Press Officers promote the work of the Labour Assembly Members through writing local and regional press releases, helping prepare our politicians for TV/ radio interviews and creating social media content.</li>
</ul>
<h2>About the role</h2>
In this role you will work as a part of our Press Office. Working with our Senior Press Officer, you’ll lead on our digital content, making sure our social media channels and website reflect the work our Labour Assembly Members are doing to champion the interests of Londoners. You will also support the rest of the Press Office in drafting regional or local newspaper stories as required.
This role is based at City Hall, in the Royal Docks (Kamal Chunchie Way, London, E16 1ZE).
<h2>What your day will look like</h2>
This is a busy role that is a combination of proactive work to generate exciting media stories and reactive work to respond to breaking news stories. Your day might look something like:
<ul>
<li>having a short catch up at the start of the day with the Senior Press Officer and Communications Officer to go through the press grid and plan stories for the day ahead</li>
<li>producing a video clip of one of our Assembly Members speaking at a London Assembly Committee</li>
<li>attending a constituency visit with one of our Assembly Members to record a video, edit the footage and help them to post this on social media</li>
<li>monitor the social media content of key stakeholders to identify opportunities for pieces of work we can collaborate on.</li>
</ul>
<h2>Skills, knowledge and experience</h2>
To be considered for the role you must meet the following essential criteria:

<li>Experience and evidence of running online media campaigns.</li>
<li>Understanding of current affairs, the political context of London government and the major issues facing the capital.</li>
<li>Evidence of working successfully, in a similar role in a high profile organisation, or for high profile people.</li>
<li>Demonstrate commitment and understanding of the role of the GLA in promoting equality and working with diverse groups in developing the work required to advance the needs of Assembly Members.</li>
