The Role
An opportunity has arisen for the role of Senior Surveyor within the Repairs and Maintenance Service (RMS) based at the White Lund Depot, Morecambe.This exciting role will support our improvement journey to provide our tenants, leaseholders and stakeholders with a 1st class repairs and maintenance service. &nbsp;&nbsp;
We are seeking a suitably qualified and competent person who thrives on working in a challenging, varied and performance driven culture. You must enjoy working collaboratively with colleagues within RMS, Council Housing Neighbourhood Service, Choice Based Lettings team and our Property, Asset &amp; Compliance team. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;
The successful candidate will be responsible for arranging and undertaking a wide range of technical inspections to Council Housing stock (tenanted/void dwellings, acquired properties, garages, estate/land &amp; commercial properties and mutual exchanges) within prescribed timescales. The role will also include being the lead for managing our response to dealing with reports of damp/mould (or any other hazard under the HHSRS) ensuring our response to reports of damp and mould are within prescribed timescales. You will also be responsible for ensuring accurate performance monitoring data is kept up to date on the damp/mould tracker.&nbsp;
Managing a small team of Surveyors’, you will have a varied role that will range from inspecting repair requests from our customers through to undertaking and validating existing stock condition surveys. You will also be involved in responding to disrepair claims, complaints, and responding to customer requests to undertake improvements. More complex issues (eg structural) will require you to appoint and manage external consultants and specialists.
You will have overall responsibility for undertaking a range of functions relating to the repair and maintenance of our stock and will develop strong working relationships with our Customer Services team and Property, Asset and Compliance team. It is essential you have excellent communication and time management skills. If you enjoy undertaking a range of challenging tasks this is the role for you.&nbsp;&nbsp;
Working collaboratively with other RMS managers ensuring that you and your team are available to support the inspection process relating to voids, supported moves, mutual exchanges and stock acquisitions. You will also be working with our tenant groups/representatives and being used to scrutiny to improve overall service delivery.
In addition to the above you will support the transition of the current service delivery model as it evolves from being less responsive to a more planned approach to undertaking repair works.&nbsp;
To undertake this role successfully it is essential that you have customer 1st skills and the drive to deliver a high performing repairs and maintenance service.&nbsp;
The successful candidate must be able to evidence the requirements detailed in the person specification.
Your normal working hours will be 37 per week, and flexitime working applies to this role. You may also be required to support our response to emergency repair requests by being “on-call” for the Out of Hours emergency repair service.

HGV &amp; Municipal Vehicle Technician Salthill Depot - Clitheroe
Reference: COM940 Pay: Scale 5 (scp 16-19) £30,518 to £32,061 per annum, plus a market supplement of £2,939 per annum Hours: 37 hours per week This post assists the Senior HGV and Municipal Vehicle Technician in ensuring that the Council’s vehicle fleet is maintained to a high standard. The maintenance is undertaken in the Council’s vehicle workshop on the Salthill Industrial Estate, Clitheroe.
In order to fully undertake the role of the HGV and Municipal Vehicle Technician you will have a minimum of 2 years of post-qualification experience. &nbsp;An LGV category C driving licence is an essential requirement, as is a National Craft Certificate in HGV maintenance (or equivalent). &nbsp;A FLT driving licence would also be advantageous.
Whilst the working week is 37 hours from Monday to Friday, it is applied with the flexibility to ensure that vehicles are available for use as necessitated by the service.

The Role
Lancaster City Council are looking for an adaptable and self-motivated Cemeteries Team Leader to join the Public Realms Cemeteries department within the Environment and Place Directorate to contribute in delivery of high-quality bereavement service across the district.
The successful candidate will report to the Cemeteries Operations Manager in Public Realm and will assist in delivering an efficient and effective burial service in all the Council’s cemeteries with responsibilities to lead a team in undertaking that all aspects of gravedigging duties / memorial safety and grounds maintenance duties specification and work objectives are met.
You will have a good knowledge of gravedigging practices and procedures to undertake all gravedigging duties, excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You should have good numeracy and literacy skills, proven ICT skills and the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. You must be able to work effectively as part of a close team and cope well working with a caring and sensitive manner.
The work is physically demanding, involving bending, kneeling, lifting and carrying and it is essential that you are able to lift weights of up to 25kg.
You will be able to demonstrate flexibility and commitment to delivering high quality customer service.
A full current UK driving licence with legal dispensation to pull trailers up to 3500kg is essential. You will be required to sign up to the authorised external DVLA driving licence validation organisation that we use to manage and monitor our employees driving licence data.
The hours for this post are 37 hours per week. Your normal working week will be on a shift rota basis, working 5 days out of 7, including evenings, weekends and bank holidays, in line with business needs.

Cemeteries Team Leader

The Role
As an Independent Living Officer you will be responsible for the day to day running of a City Council Independent Living scheme, consisting of approx. 36 properties, communal grounds, communal laundry, communal lounges.
You will be the key point of contact for tenants providing support and guidance on a wide range of housing and health/social related concerns both from the office on site and in tenants homes.
Your role will also include offering advice and guidance, acting in the best interests of Lancaster City Council and ensuring our tenants feel heard, valued, and supported throughout the process.
You will provide a housing management service for the tenants and support them to sustain their tenancies as required.&nbsp;You must be capable of demonstrating a sincere commitment to the support of older adults, possess exceptional organisational skills, be customer focused and have good social skills. You must have a calm, patient disposition with the ability to respond quickly and efficiently in an emergency situation, whilst under pressure.
An understanding of community care and the ability to deal with any situation, as and when it arises, in an efficient and effective way, is essential. The Independent Living team is a large, dispersed team, when required, you will be expected to provide cover for any of our other Lancaster City Council independent living schemes within the area.
The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to always delivering outstanding customer service, a high level of attention to detail, excellent record keeping and proven ability to manage workload whist being a lone worker and work well in a dispersed team.
This post is permanent. The hours of work are 37 hours per week, working Monday to Friday 9am - 5pm. You will be based at Lancaster Town Hall.&nbsp;
The successful applicant will be subject to an enhanced clearance with the Disclosure and Barring Service.
A full current UK driving licence is essential, as the post holder will be required to work a transient role around the district, as they will have to travel between locations and travel within the Council’s designated area. As a result, you will be required to sign up to the authorised external DVLA driving licence validation organisation that we use to manage and monitor our employees driving licence data.

The Role
Supporting the work of the supported housing improvement programme (SHIP) multi-disciplinary team. The team are tasked with scrutinising all aspects of supported housing provision to ensure it provides value for money, good quality accommodation and support service. The post holder is responsible for providing a full range of administrative duties:
