Our busy Community, Business, Work and Skills Team are seeking to recruit for the important role of Employment, Skills & Training Co-ordinator.
Blaby district has a solid history when it comes to supporting residents back into employment, dating back to 2019 when we ran a successful construction pilot on New Lubbesthorpe. The team has since grown the offer and run several projects to support residents into work – job fairs, job clubs, 1.2.1 support, working with schools and different industries to inspire the workforce of the future, mock interviews and support with CV/Job Application, quality work experience.
The Employment, Skills & Training Co-ordinator is a crucial role withing the team and provides an excellent service to residents looking for employment, training or upskilling.
Within this role you will co-ordinate the employment, skills and training opportunities for the district, as well as develop new sector partnerships to maximise opportunities for local people and businesses. You should have experience leading and coordinating recruitment, work experience placements, apprenticeships, training and education-related opportunities.
Ideally, you will have experience of developing and managing effective working relationships with a wide range of partners and external organisations such as Department for Work and Pensions, Job Centre Plus, National Careers Service, Probation Service, and key staff from different sectors.
You should have a great track record of successful projects you have coordinated with key attributes to include well-developed communication, persuasive and interpersonal skills as well as the ability to cope with a variable and demanding workload, experience of self-evaluation of services and project planning.
A full driving license and access to your own transport is required

This role will require a Basic Disclosure and Barring Service check (known as a DBS check). All offers of employment will be made conditional upon receipt of the satisfactory DBS check.
