Teacher of Art (maternity cover)

Ancora House School and its Management Committee wish to recruit an outstanding teacher to join our dedicated and experienced team to provide maternity cover for Art from September 2025 until June 2026. We are specifically looking for a teacher to work all day Monday and Tuesday mornings.

We offer an exciting and dynamic environment away from the constraints of a mainstream classroom; we encourage all staff to explore and develop their interests in order to enrich our young people’s experience with us; we operate within a culture of high warmth and high expectation.

We deliver education to young people at all stages in their learning and support the needs of  learners who may not be accessing education or who are in a transition phase due to their mental health needs. The curriculum we offer aims to be purposeful and relevant and is designed to develop the skills needed for the next steps in each learner’s journey.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to expand their professional skills and experience in our unique setting. Young people who attend Ancora House School are in hospital and have a wide range of mental health needs; holistic practice places the young person at the heart of all planning in a trauma informed approach to teaching and learning.
