You have an exciting opportunity to be part of our Environmental Health Team within Regulatory Services. You’ll be part of a team delivering a quality service to residents, on issues that are often complex and can have a negative impact on quality of life.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>This role sits within the commercial regulation side of Environmental Health. You will be involved in supporting wider activities such as skin piercing and tattoo regulation, health and safety enforcement, commercial nuisance investigations, and ensuring compliance with relevant environmental crime regulations. You’ll be responding to service requests and enquiries, carrying out inspections, enforcing legislation where appropriate and providing relevant specialist expertise. We also assist in maintaining public car parks and support a variety of events, such as D-Day commemorations, Rugby in Bloom, and the annual Christmas lights display. We serve as a key support service for other council departments, handling civil works, emergency repairs, and more specialised projects including flood management, drainage, park maintenance, and general repairs. We also provide private services, primarily involving the installation of drop kerbs and driveways</p>\n<p><strong> </strong></p>\n<p>In this role you’ll be carrying out the day to day operational & monitoring functions of the Street Scene Team and support the Street Scene Team Leader in highway works, public realm maintenance and co-ordination of structural inspections and maintenance.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>You’ll provide a frontline point of contact with the public and other agencies for all services which involve street scene, taking personal ownership of a range of service requests and identifying appropriate colleagues or other agencies that can address the customer’s needs.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>You will assist in the effective and timely resolution of cross cutting public realm queries received via several sources.
