Making A Difference as a Prevent Development Officer in the Communities Department.
 St Helens Borough Council seeks to appoint a Prevent Development Officer to join the Community Safety Team. The key functions of the role include the local development and delivery of training, awareness and programmes to support the objectives of the national Prevent Strategy, which is part of the wider Government CONTEST Strategy. The successful applicant will work in close partnership with colleagues within the Council, Police, and a range of other agencies to ensure a co-ordinated approach to activity to reduce the harm and risk to individuals and the community. Good partnership work with local communities is central to the successful delivery of the Prevent objectives within St Helens. This role of the Prevent Development Officer will identify, build, and maintain a network of community contacts to improve coordination of Prevent delivery. Liverpool City Council is seeking a new full time Area Coroner to replace the current post holder who leaves in September 2025.
The Area Coroner will work closely with the Senior Coroner to provide judicial leadership to the coroner team as well as conducting their own coroner investigations and inquests.&nbsp;The area coroner is the nominated deputy for the Senior Coroner when the senior coroner is absent. In this role you will act as the lead officer on strategy and policy, insight and intelligence, integrated service planning, performance and risk management. You will manage, develop and deliver an effective strategy, policy and insight function, working closely with key stakeholders to develop and articulate organisational priorities, and develop strategies, policies and partnerships to achieve organisational objectives.
The successful candidate will be proactive and self-motivated, with demonstrative experience of working successfully in a complex public sector policy and/or insight environment, delivering a range of strategy, policy and insight initiatives. You will hold substantial knowledge of the local government policy environment, strategic and corporate planning, performance management and insight. Your ability to manage teams effectively, build productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, and communicate clearly and effectively will be key to your success, as will the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
The role is based in Guildford and Waverley’s offices in Guildford and Godalming. Hybrid working is also available.
The role is offered at 37 hours per week on a full time, permanent basis.
