Youth Justice Keyworkers play a vital role in supporting children at risk of entering the youth justice system, coordinating and delivering interventions to guide them toward positive outcomes.
We are seeking dedicated professionals with strong assessment and judgment skills, capable of managing caseloads confidently under limited supervision. Effective engagement and innovative intervention strategies will be essential. In this role strong communication skills are also key utilising active listening and leading with curiosity while having emotional resilience. You will have a comprehensive understanding of the functions of various partnership agencies, identifying the most effective ways to collaborate to secure the best outcomes for children.
These positions require the ability to travel independently across the county. You will need to engage with children, young people, and families outside of standard school or work hours to ensure the service meets their needs effectively.
Please note there are currently two projects that we are looking to allocate successfully appointed Youth Justice Key Workers to. The Connect Project is a new deterrence intervention initially targeted at children aged 10-18, recognising that most serious violence is associated with those who are very likely to be victims of violence, trauma, and extremely challenging circumstances themselves. The second project involves engaging and supporting children in police custody aged 10-18 years old at a key time in a key location who are either involved in, or at risk of, serious violence.
Please feel free to indicate the project or location preference on your application form, which the panel will try to take into consideration. There will be an opportunity to discuss this in more detail at the interview stage.
