Job introduction

About the role

Following the successful reopening of Lansdowne Secure Children’s home, we are now looking to expand the home’s capacity as we continue to care for some of the most vulnerable children in the UK. As part of this we require a Deputy Service Manager for Care planning & Intervention. If you believe you have the skills to match, this role has the potential to make a huge impact on the lives of children who need it most.

We are looking for someone to lead on the Care Planning, Intervention and Resettlement of the children placed at Lansdowne Secure Children’s Home. You will be a visible leader, forming part of the Duty and On Call Manager rota (24/7 365 rota). Most importantly, we need someone who has the mentality of high aspirations and high expectations for the children placed with us.

The role requires someone who can manage and deploy the resources within the service area to ensure that children’s needs are met in line with their care plans. You will coordinate, schedule and then chair / attend statutory and non-statutory reviews and meetings, representing the home and championing its ethos, whilst advocating for children. Our staff put children at the heart of everything they do and we are committed to ensuring that all staff have the opportunity to train, develop and become part of a team that embraces every member.

This is a unique opportunity to join a home that has an excellent core of staff in place. You must be able to provide excellent support to, and where necessary deputise for, the Service Manager, helping to grow and drive the home forward to become an outstanding place of care with the children at the heart of everything we do.

Lansdowne Secure Children’s Home is a Secure Residential Provision where children are placed under section 25 (restriction of liberty) of the Children Act, 1989. This role will require a skilled manager who understands the pressures and demands of a busy and complex residential setting, and can prioritise and problem solve to meet these demands.

If you have the experience and believe the approach matches your core values, we want to talk with you.
