Scale 3/6 = £24,790 - £32,654 per annum (pay award pending) - Overtime payments are made for evening meetings (up to a limit of 70 hours per annum – additional hours allowed as time off in lieu)

The successful candidate will become a member of the highly performing Democratic Services team that provides and deliver a comprehensive democratic services role that supports the managerial and political decision-making functions at Pendle Borough Council.
You may have previously worked in a Democratic Services / Elections environment, or you may have some administrative experience and be looking to take the next step in your career development.
The primary role of the post will involve you being involved in all aspects of Committee administration, from assisting with the preparation of agendas, attending and taking accurate minutes of meetings, some of which are held on evenings, and issuing decision action sheets. There will also be a variety of associated administrative tasks you will undertake as part of the team’s work. In addition, at times you will be required provide to support the Council’s elections and electoral services as and when directed by the Democratic Services Manager to do so.
With the ability to work effectively to meet deadlines, it would be advantageous, but not essential if you have qualifications in democratic services e.g. Association of Democratic Services Officers certificate or diploma (ADSO) or Association of Electoral Administrators (AEA) qualification. Appropriate training may be offered to attain such professional qualifications, and you will be mentored and supported in the job by the Democratic Services Manager to achieve your full potential through a structured induction programme .
A current valid driving licence and use of vehicle insured for business use is desirable for this post as some meetings will be held at other locations with the borough. Commencing salary is subject to qualifications and experience.
