Following the successful transformation of our Adult Social Care department, we are pleased to offer an exciting opportunity within our newly established structure for a motivated Senior Social Worker, on a permanent, full-time basis.
About you...
We are seeking an experienced and Social Work England registered Senior Social Worker, with at least three years of post-qualifying experience. You will be dedicated to supporting colleagues managing complex caseloads, upholding high standards of practice and empowering individuals to stay connected to their communities and protected from harm.
As a Senior Social Worker within the Adult Community team, you will play a key role in ensuring timely and effective assessments and safeguarding plans are in place. You will be supported in this position by experienced senior staff and managers.
About the team...
Our Adult Social Care service is composed of highly professional and supportive multidisciplinary teams. We have a “can do” and “no wrong door” ethos. Our social care teams work together as one service and go the extra mile to ensure our residents have the right support.
We work in close partnership with health, housing and other key partners to ensure individuals receive the support they need to achieve their desired outcomes.
We also hold regular multidisciplinary forums, ensuring our residents have easy access to health and social care services that work together to provide coordinated, holistic support when it is needed most.
We understand the demands of working in Adult Social Care, therefore we are committed to ensuring our staff feel supported. You will receive regular supervision and access to training. We have a strong focus on supporting our staff to learn, grow and develop to achieve their potential. We listen to our social care staff about the best way to deliver our services and encourage feedback and suggestions on how we can do things better together.
Key responsibilities...
- To work as a Senior Social Worker as part of a multi-disciplinary team, connecting people and their families to their community and social network, enabling them to live within their own communities and reduce dependence on long term care
- To support in delivering and maintaining high standards of performance ensuring continuous development and supporting people to fulfil their roles to maximum effectiveness within allocated resources
- To take responsibility for own learning, including mandatory and suggested training and the training of students and identified staff
- To take an active part in your own supervision and appraisal and to supervise and appraise allocated staff in accordance with the departmental supervision policy and council's appraisal policy
- To take a departmental or team lead within a specified area of work as required
