About the role
Do you want to help to bring lasting improvements to Hastings town centre? Then you may be well-suited to join the Hastings Green Connections project team.
Project management is all about connections, between colleagues, contractors and, most importantly, end users. As our Project Officer, you’ll play a central role in the Hastings Town Centre Public Realm and Green Connections scheme. Working in a fast-paced and supportive environment with a wide variety of stakeholders, you will enable the delivery of improvements to public spaces, making it easier to navigate by walking, wheeling, and cycling, and enhancing Hastings Town Centre to become a greener place. This role is a great opportunity to develop your project management skills, broaden your horizons – and connect families, friends and visitors with places and spaces across the town.
Sitting within the Major Projects & Growth team, you’ll play a key role in delivering the project by supporting the Project Manager in project planning, governance and stakeholder engagement. You’ll coordinate activities, keep communication flowing and act as a first contact for the project, helping us all stay effective as a team.
This is a 12-month fixed term contract to support the delivery of the Hastings Town Centre Public Realm and Green Connections project. While the role is advertised as full time we would consider, part time or flexible working patterns.
When in the role the successful candidate will be required to travel to Hastings as needed for meetings and site visits.
We are looking for candidates who…
- Have communication skills
- Are self-motivated
- Can balance a varied workload
- Have strong organisational abilities
