Do you have experience in property maintenance and repairs? We are looking for a handy person to join our team!</p><p>Our Team consists of 1 Registered Manager, 1 Deputy Manager, 1 Office manager, 3 Senior ARC Worker,10 ARC workers and 1 cleaner.</p><p>The successful candidate will support the team in the house to maintain the home.</p><h4>About the role</h4><p>The handy person's role is to ensure the buildings and outside areas are:</p><ul>\n<li>Safe and meet Health & Safety and Hertfordshire County Council requirements.</li>\n<li>Well maintained.</li>\n<li>Fixture and fittings are in good order and areas are well decorated.</li>\n</ul><p>Each day is different, and you will need to plan and prioritise tasks, in liaison with your line manager and the service needs. There is a handy person folder where staff detail any jobs required and there will be times that jobs are not listed. In these circumstances you will be required to identify these.</p><p>Due to the nature of the service some jobs may need to be done repetitively so you will need to be patient and have some tolerance. You will be required to use a variety of tools, which are provided by the home.</p><p>You will work closely with contractors employed by the housing provider, reporting and monitoring repairs they are responsible for.</p><p>Essentially the role is to ensure the buildings, fixtures and fittings and outside areas are safe and well maintained. You will be required to complete a variety of tasks, which include:</p><ul>\n<li>General carpentry tasks.</li>\n<li>Repairs to fixtures, fittings and furniture.</li>\n<li>Painting and decorating.</li>\n<li>Changing light bulbs.</li>\n<li>Bicycle maintenance.</li>\n<li>Putting together furniture, fixing shelves, and hanging pictures.</li>\n<li>Window cleaning.</li>\n<li>Salting grounds during cold weather.</li>\n<li>Completing H&S checks, such as tools and ladders.</li>\n<li>This list is not exhorted and may include other role</li>\n</ul><p>Experience in property maintenance and DIY is needed.
