We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Head of Building Control who is a self-motivated leader with comprehensive experience in the Building Control sector, on a permanent, full-time basis.
This is the first time this role has been available for 20 years and therefore offers a great opportunity for someone who wishes to make their mark in Building Control.

About you...
You will bring your expertise to run the daily operations of our well-respected team, while also help lead and adapt our services in response to the ongoing changes mandated by the Building Safety Bill.
This role will ideally suit someone who is already experienced operating at Principal or Team Leader, who has a strong track record developing teams and working in either the public or private sector.

You will lead our proactive, customer-focused Building Control team that has played a vital role in varied projects, including our multi-million-pound town centre redevelopment, significant healthcare projects and numerous large sale housing projects across the borough.
Located in Bracknell Forest - a thriving community in the heart of Berkshire, just a short journey from London, you will encounter a diverse mix of residential and commercial challenges that offer rewarding opportunities for professional growth.

You will manage and build up our dedicated team committed to collaborating with construction customers to enhance local safety and contribute to the ongoing regeneration of our town, transforming it into a premier shopping and leisure destination and creating modern living environments including tall apartment buildings.
Key responsibilities...
- Lead the Building Control function for Bracknell Forest, overseeing the delivery of the service for customers
- Promote a culture of learning and development so the team can enhance their skills and build resilience in the service
- Ensure compliance with the Building Safety Act through continuous improvement and competence
- Responsible for the business systems that support the Building Control process
- Represent the council on all matters related to Building Control
- Regularly assess service-related systems and procedures, making necessary updates to align with the latest policies and legal requirements
