Job Title: Estates Technician (Asset Data)
Barnsley Council is seeking a highly motivated individual who possesses good technical and communication skills to support our team of experienced surveyors and the wider Council in the provision of technical support, in connection with the Council's property holdings, and maintenance of the Asset Register and Terrier systems.
You will assist and support the Principal and Senior Technicians to ensure the delivery, maintenance and continual improvement of the Asset Register and Terrier systems by capturing and verifying geographic and textual data from transfer documentation, conveyances, leases and tenancies, etc., and inputting information onto computerised systems and to be a point of contact for the Council in respect of general land ownership enquiries.
This role offers a great opportunity to collaborate with experienced professionals and learn from their expertise. It involves capturing and verifying geographic and textual data, conducting land and property surveys, and using CAD and GIS systems to produce visual plans and resolving boundary disputes to managing records of land and property interests.
Your contributions will support the ongoing project to transfer data to a corporate GIS, promoting e-business and accessibility. The role includes providing training to new users of the Asset Register and Terrier (GIS) systems.
