Adur & Worthing Councils are looking for a Income and Payables Officer to contribute to the efficient processing of our financial transactions and provide crucial support to our Finance Department.
In this role, you will:
- Process sundry debtors and supplier invoices accurately.
- Maintain customer and supplier details for correct invoice processing.
- Input manual payments and direct debits.
- Handle supplier, customer, and employee finance enquiries.
- Assist with the collation of statistical information.
- Ensure high standards of customer care.
- Provide cover across various finance sections.
- Process quantities of coins and balance cash and cheque payments.
- Act as a positive representative of the Finance Department.
We are looking for someone with:
- Willingness to adapt to new ways of working.
- Enthusiasm for teamwork and collaboration.
- Honesty, openness, and a proactive approach.
- Ability to perform the essential function of handling and counting cash accurately, with or without reasonable adjustments.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organisational and time management abilities.
- GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent).
Ideally, you will also have:
- AAT Level 2 (or equivalent).
- Experience in local government.
- Experience handling customer enquiries.
