We are looking for a handy person to join our team, who will be working within short break service for adults with various disabilities, staff office areas and other onsite buildings used by staff and people we support.</p><h4>About the role</h4><p>The handy person’s role is to ensure the buildings, outside areas and environments are:</p><ul>\n<li>Meet H&S and HCC requirements</li>\n<li>Well maintained</li>\n<li>Fixtures and fittings are in good order and areas are in good state of decoration</li>\n<li>Residential areas are homely</li>\n</ul><p><strong>Other general job responsibilities:</strong></p><ul>\n<li>Plan and prioritise tasks</li>\n<li>Working from a folder where staff detail jobs required</li>\n<li>Collection of materials for jobs required</li>\n<li>General maintenance such as gardening, decorating, carpentry tasks, putting together furniture, window cleaning, changing lightbulbs and salting grounds during cold weather</li>\n<li>Responding to emergencies during the day</li>\n<li>Use of tools and power tools which are provided</li>\n<li>Working closely with contractors employed by the housing provider</li>\n<li>Reporting and monitoring repairs they are responsible for</li>\n</ul><p>By joining our team, you'll have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on both the people we support and our staff.
