The Legal team at Halton Borough Council plays a vital role in supporting the Authority by delivering high-quality, timely, and business-focused legal and procedural advice. In this role, you will work closely with our Social Care and Education teams, providing expert legal services as directed by the appropriate Principal  Lawyer. The team is committed to delivering advice in a cost-effective and efficient manner, ensuring best value for the Council while helping to meet the complex and evolving needs of the community.</p><p><strong>Your Contributions:</strong></p><p>You will have a recognised legal qualification as a Solicitor, Barrister, or Chartered Legal Executive. </p><p>You will be pivotal in supporting the team to provide a high standard of legal advice to our social care partners. You will be responsible for leading , managing and motivating the team and to build upon the culture of trust in the team and  providing a comprehensive legal service to colleagues throughout the Council, and to the Council’s wholly owned subsidiary companies.</p><p>In collaboration with the  Head of Legal, you will have an important role in the transformation of the legal services team to ensure that processes and systems are where they need to  be and are effective.  This is an exciting time to join the team as we are growing our service and we are looking for a number of talented lawyers and non-lawyers  to join us on our journey. Ideally you would have experience of managing a legal team alongside experience and/or knowledge 1 or more of the following areas of work - child care, adult social care, education and SEND work.
