Our Team
Come and join the Mental Health Social Work/AMHP Team- Runcorn/Widnes and Older Person’s CMHT in Halton. We are a small local authority which does not take long to travel across the borough. Halton is close to motorway networks including the M6, M62, M56 etc. We have a base in Vine Street resource centre- Widnes and The Brooker Centre- Runcorn- this offers flexibility to the team.
Halton Borough Council also provide a generous essential car user allowance and a flexible working week. You can receive up to 34 days annual leave per annum (Plus bank holidays) and access to HBC’s lease Car, Bike Schemes, and free parking throughout your places of work. Bridge fees will also be paid in line with council business.

Your Contributions:
The Mental Health social work team works with adults, who meet the criteria in line with the Care Act and require support in relation to their mental health. We work closely with our Mental Health Trust colleagues to provide a responsive, holistic and recovery focussed response to adults with complex mental health needs.
We are a well-established and stable team with supportive management. The managers in the team are experienced AMHP’s who will offer support and guidance. Our team has a mixture of experienced practitioners all willing to support new members to the team. We are a friendly and welcoming team. We are looking for qualified Approved Mental Health Professionals.
HBC 9, Spinal Points 32-35- £41, 551- £44,711- Approved Mental Health Professional (Pay award pending). AMHP’s will also receive on top of HBC9 a £4,000 Social work allowance (pro rata) PLUS AMHP’s will also attract an additional £2000 per annum market supplement. PLUS Essential Car User allowance.
You must be a qualified social worker registered with Social Work England, and a qualified Approved Mental Health Professional in order to perform the statutory duties of an AMHP for Halton Borough Council. As an Approved Mental Health Professional we also offer an additional £2,000 per year allowance and Essential Car user. The day time AMHP service includes the working hours between 9am- 5pm Monday- Friday. Relevant training is also provided to ensure professional development, access to support/advice, regular AMHP supervision with the AMHP Lead and monthly AMHP forums- where there will be cake!
