This position will be based in Family Safeguarding West.<br><br><b>About the role</b><br><br>Family Practitioners deliver parenting programmes and support children and young people who meet the defined criteria for a Child in Need assessment and support.<br><br>Each Family Practitioner will an agreed number of children and families assigned to them under the close guidance, direction, support and oversight of the Team Manager and Consultant Social Worker. <br><br>Working closely with the children, parents, extended family and partner agencies, you will contribute to the development of the overall service as part of each team.<br><br>In this varied role which will see you:<ul>\n<li>Visit children and families to gather information about their needs, strengths, wishes and feelings alongside partner agencies and information already held.</li>\n<li>Complete genograms, ecomaps and chronologies with families to inform assessment and support networks.</li>\n<li>Gather and analyse information in partnership with parents and carers from non-resident parents, extended family and partner agencies.</li>\n<li>Utilise assessment and intervention tools to assess needs and strengths as well as motivate, strengthen and support families through change.</li>\n<li>Compile and analyse all the information gathered within a Child and Family Assessment/Family Safeguarding Parenting programme and develop a recommended plan alongside the family and your line manager.</li>\n<li>Ensure that the work you undertake with families is recorded in an accurate and timely way onto the children's electronic case records (LCS).</li>\n</ul><br><b>About you</b><br><br>We are looking for candidates who meet the below essential criteria:<ul>\n<li>Previous working experience where interaction with children and families has been a major part of the role i.e. Teaching assistants, youth support workers, nursery workers, Children's Practitioners, s, family centre workers etc.</li>\n<li>A working knowledge of safeguarding thresholds would be helpful but training will be given.</li>\n<li>An ability to relay accurate information/concerns in a timely and sensitive way.</li>\n<li>The drive, passion and flexibility to offer families a high-quality service.</li>\n<li>Secure knowledge and the confidence to recognise and respond to safeguarding concerns and issues.</li>\n<li>Ability to collate and analyse information to produce high quality assessments, action plans and reports with support from the Team CSW and Manager.</li>\n<li>Full UK driving licence and access to vehicle.</li>\n</ul><br><br>This job role is within the Health and Social Care Services, level HSC9 job profile.
