We provide care for up to 7 children at a time with a range of disabilities. All the children we provide care for are aged between five and eighteen, have a statement of special educational needs and are mobile. They live in the Birmingham area with their families and only come to Charles House for Short Breaks, some may have heard this called ‘respite care’ in the past.</div><div>Our aim is to enable families who have a child with a disability to care for that child to the best of their ability and recharge their energy<strong>,</strong> whilst knowing their child is cared for by an experienced well trained and above all caring staff team. </div><div><strong>The role</strong></div><ul>\n<li>You will have at least 2 years’ experience of working with children including experience of working with disabled children. </li>\n<li>You will need to hold the QCF level 3 or equivalent or be willing to undertake the qualification within 6 months of starting the role. </li>\n<li>You will be responsible for key working and ensuring good relationships with children and their families as well as working with a wide range of professionals. </li>\n<li>You will be expected to undertake a range of training, including training in communication with non- verbal children and some health care training.
