EYFS Lead

Mottram St. Andrew Primary Academy is seeking to appoint an effective and enthusiastic teacher and leader to teach our Reception class and to lead our EYFS unit. The position is a key role in our Senior Leadership Team.

We are a small, one form entry school with a friendly, family atmosphere. Class sizes are low as our pupil admission number is 26. We have an experienced and dedicated staff team, who encourage every child to achieve their full potential and develop a love of learning. As a school, we take great pride in our achievements but are also committed to our continued development.

Our EYFS unit consists of:

• Reception class, of up to 26 children, staffed by the EYFS lead together with a full-time teaching assistant.
• Nursery class, of up to 16 children, staffed by two teaching assistants.

 

The EYFS lead has overall leadership and management responsibility for both the Nursery and Reception class, as they operate as an integrated unit.

It is essential that the successful candidate has experience of teaching within the EYFS. However, it is not necessary to already have experience of Nursery, if you have successful experience of teaching Reception.

The successful candidate will be an excellent early year’s teacher, able to create a happy, challenging and effective learning environment, while providing for the individual needs of all the children within the class. They will have the ability to lead and manage all aspects of the EYFS unit, while based as the reception class teacher.
