About the Role
The Local Land Charges (LLC) Team carries out property searches for people moving home in Mid Sussex, as well as maintaining the Local Land Charges Register – restrictions on properties and land throughout the district. As a Local Land Charges Officer, you’ll be a vital member of the LLC Team, ensuring that property information remains up to date and accurate, and the residents of Mid Sussex receive the reliable, dependable searches they need for the smooth, confident purchase of their new home.
Your role will involve:
- Processing Local Authority Searches, gathering data from Planning, Building Control, Environmental Health, and Highways.
- Maintaining the Local Land Charges Register, which includes restrictions like Planning Permissions, Enforcement Notices, Tree Preservation Orders, Legal Agreements, Housing Grants and more.
- Providing a Planning and Building Control History service to aid local residents and solicitors in obtaining historical records on their home.
- Responding to queries helpfully and professionally, via email and phone.
- Working collaboratively to deliver timely and accurate services.
If your curious about property history, well organised and efficient, with a strong eye for detail, and excellent IT and administrative skills, this could be the role for you.
About You
We’re seeking a proactive, enthusiastic individual with:
- Strong administrative experience.
- Excellent attention to detail and high accuracy in your work.
- Confident IT skills and the ability to use various software systems.
- A polite, professional telephone manner and a customer-first approach.
