Location of work: Town Hall / Harlequin/ Earlswood Depot/Hybrid working (Home-working)
Salary: £31,347 - £36,618
Basis: Fixed term (12 months) 36 hours per week
About the Role
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Money Support Officer to join our team. The role involves working in the Money Support Team who sit within the Intervention Team at Reigate and Banstead Borough Council.
The successful candidate will be pro-active and ambitious, ideally with a track record in working with and supporting people with benefits, money management and budgeting support.
You will be joining an innovative multi-agency team which supports the successful co-ordination of local statutory and voluntary services and offers person-centred support to individuals to enable sustainable change. About the Person
You must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, be an outstanding team player and be able to work on your own initiative. A commitment to providing high standards of customer service, with the skill and discipline to deliver this across a varied workload and to work to deadlines are essential.
We are looking for a positive, supportive, flexible and innovative person that can engage well with households experiencing financial difficulties. You will be a colleague with an outstanding commitment and enthusiasm in supporting our most vulnerable residents.
You will have detailed knowledge of the benefits system including Universal Credit and experience of working in a busy front-line service. You will provide comprehensive money support to households with a range of circumstances. You will meet with clients, assess their circumstances, and identify their options. You will work collaboratively with other partners including internal teams, domestic abuse support services, landlords, DWP, other relevant stakeholders.
The role is largely Town Hall based at our modern offices in Reigate as well as visiting residents in the borough. Some hybrid working, if agreed with the Senior Money Support Officer.
