The Sensory Support Team is highly regarded by parents and schools, and we are looking for an exceptional member of staff to join our team.</p><p>This role works with families, early years settings, and schools across West Sussex. Your casework will be based in Horsham and Mid-Sussex.</p><p>We are looking for someone who has recent experience of working with children who are deaf / have hearing loss, in a variety of educational settings. You will have recent working knowledge of different hearing devices and assistive listening technologies, as well as a knowledge of different language and speech discrimination assessments.</p><p>You will ideally have up-to-date knowledge and understanding of educational legislation, the SEN Code of Practice and Ofsted inspection frameworks.</p><p>Key requirements of the role include:</p><ul>\n<li>Ensuring children and young people have appropriate technological aids to support their development.</li>\n<li>Working in partnership with and offering guidance to schools and families.</li>\n<li>Delivering planned, comprehensive, co-ordinated support, and direct teaching for children and young people who are deaf / have hearing loss.</li>\n<li>Promoting inclusion and enabling access to the National Curriculum.</li>\n<li>Clear and effective communication with colleagues and customers.<br><br>\n</li>\n</ul><p>To be successful in this role, you will need:</p><ul>\n<li>Mandatory PGDip / Master level Qualification for Qualified Teacher of the Deaf.</li>\n<li>Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and Teacher Reference Number (TRN).</li>\n<li>Recent experience of working in an educational setting, or as a centrally employed teacher for a Local Authority.</li>\n<li>Strong personal values and emotional resilience.</li>\n<li>Confidence in using IT.</li>\n</ul><p>For more information on the Key Skills, Qualifications and/or Experience required, please refer to the Job Description attached.
