About the role
Are you looking for a rewarding and fulfilling role? If you are, you could become part of our great team supporting adults with a learning disability to become employed.
This role involves working alongside people on a 1:1 basis offering support with developing their CV, interview preparation, applying for jobs and gaining employment. The role will support enabling people to build the skills and confidence to enter the workforce and also support groups of people within the day service to gain skills. No two days will be the same.
Experience is not essential as induction and training will be provided. However, we are looking for the below:
- Are good at building positive relationships with people.
- Can work independently and as part of a team.
- Have experienced in using a range of ICT systems and equipment e.g. Word, Excel, Outlook, emails, laptop, mobile phone independently.
- Understand the importance of maintain records including data protection and GDPR.
- Are able to travel independently, having the use of a vehicle available for work with relevant business insurance.
The role covers the geographical area of:
- Lewes & Wealden, the coastal strip from Saltdean through to Seaford and the surrounding area. The work base is in Lewes. 1 full time post working from this location.
- Hastings & Rother, Eastbourne through to Hailsham and the sounding areas. The work base is in Bexhill. 1 full time post working from this location.
There may be occasions when you need to provide support in other part of our county, therefore access to a vehicle for work is essential along with relevant business insurance. Miles incurred for business travel can be reclaimed at 45 pence per mile.
Working hours are between 9am to 6pm, Monday to Friday
