Job introduction
About the role
St. Michael's is a warm and welcoming rural school in the beautiful surroundings of Playden and Rye.
"Our vision at St. Michael's is that every child receives an excellent education and feels valued for who they are. We want to lay a foundation of curiosity, tapping into children's natural inquisitiveness about the world around them, and to foster their ambition by recognising and responding to their talents and individuality. We seek to treat everyone in our community with love, honesty, forgiveness and respect, rooted in the principle of 'do to others as you would have them do to you' (Luke 6:31)".
An opportunity has arisen to join our dedicated team, as a permanent member of St. Michael's. Our staff are a key and valued part of our school community; they are skilled and friendly, enjoy the benefits of regular CPD and are a strong and supportive team.
We are looking to appoint a fully qualified and highly motivated teacher with a passion for bringing out the very best in pupils. We are interested in hearing from experienced teachers and those beginning their teaching journey. This is a full-time position to start in September 2025 covering a maternity leave.
We aim to recruit individuals who are committed to achieving the highest standards and have a commitment to upholding the Church of England ethos of the school.
In return, we offer you:
- An excellent team of staff who are enthusiastic, friendly and encourage all our pupils to develop a love of learning.
- A creative, broad and balanced curriculum.
- Strong partnerships with parents, governors and the local community.
- A commitment to supporting continuous professional development.
- Well-behaved, happy and enthusiastic pupils who love to learn.
More information about our school is available on our website.
Visits to the school are encouraged. We look forward to showing you around and to giving you the opportunity to meet our pupils and to speak to members of the team.
The closing date for applications is Tuesday 20th May 2025.
Interviews will be held on Thursday 22nd May.
Shortlisted candidates will be informed by email or telephone as soon as possible after shortlisting has been completed.
Please contact the school at office@playdenschool.com (01797 280277) for an application form along with the job description and person specification.
