About the team
We are currently recruiting a Children’s & Adult's Information and Advice Officer to work within the 0-25 Disability Service. If you are passionate and committed to supporting children and families to access the right support at the right time and are interested in this area, this is role for you.
About the role
As a CAIAO you will support families, children and adults up to 25 by providing information on the offer of services available universally in 0-25. The signposting of information will support families in need to prevent an escalation of concern.
Your work will be underpinned by the principle of improving outcomes for children, young people and their families through communicating with parents and agencies to best understand a child and family’s needs and to contribute towards identifying support services and signposting to these.
About you
Essential:
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
- Demonstrate the ability to build rapport with families and professionals during telephone calls.
- Excellent keyboard skills and be computer literate.
- Professional curiosity and excellent organisational skills to ensure work is completed within tight timescales.
- A team player, but also demonstrate the ability to work autonomously.
- An understanding of disability and children, adults and family needs.
Desirable:
- Previous experience in working with children, families and adults would be beneficial.
No two days will be the same, with a variety of contacts requiring your expertise, and you will be communicating via phone with multi-agency professionals and members of the public. You'll be joining a supportive team where full training is provided to help you succeed.
