An exciting opportunity has arisen to work as an Transport Operations Safety Manager within Merton. The main duties will be,
To ensure the effective and efficient management of driver safety and compliance services, ensuring the London Borough of Merton complies with its legal responsibilities and discharges its duty of care to all colleagues working in and around vehicles.
To be the Council’s lead on-site officer for all matters relating to driver Health and Safety. Ensuring compliance with all current and evolving legislation, industry best practice and LBM Codes of Practice, ensuring that staff are appropriately briefed and trained.
To be responsible for ensuring that all services are cost effective, adopting a commercial approach to all services, delivering to the highest possible standards and in accordance with legislative and regulatory requirements.
To ensure the safe/comfortable travelling environment for all Merton Transport Services (MTS) managed passenger journeys.
To provide expert advice and have knowledge of the use of third-party service providers to deliver transport solutions and support the undertaking of required inspections of vehicles and / or sites (depots) to confirm compliance.
