Hilbre High School (part of Wirrals award-winning Oak Trees MAT) is a busy, very popular and welcoming 11- 18 academy with around 1100 pupils on roll. Our vision is for every student to have the very best educational experience, to be respectful of others, happy and with a strong moral compass. Staff pride themselves in recognising the varied and individual needs of students and providing a broad, balanced education, both in and out of the classroom.

We have recently appointed a new Headteacher, and as part of our wider investment in the school we now have an exciting opportunity to join us as School Operations Manager. Youll be responsible for maximising the operational effectiveness of Hilbre High School, overseeing key functions including health & safety, facilities management, estates, GDPR, trip and event planning as well as all elements of operational risk. Its a full-spectrum role, with plenty to keep you busy.

We want to hear from experienced, organised, tenacious and resourceful candidates who relish the chance to add value to every aspect of the schools work. Flexible, a quick learner and a good team player, youll also bring strong communication and relationship-building skills, which are essential success factors in this role. Youll be calm under pressure, able to manage priorities, and be pragmatic about how we improve the schools operating processes to support better outcomes. Experience of working in a secondary school setting, and of actively managing large external contracts (ideally PFI), would both be significant advantages.

The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young adults and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. We operate safer recruitment practices, following the guidance in Section 3 of Keeping Children Safe in Education 2024. The post is subject to an enhanced DBS check and satisfactory references.
