We wish to appoint a highly motivated Clerk to provide effective administrative support to the Bembridge Church of England Primary School.
Key responsibilities include:
- Provide effective administrative support to the governing board, which involves preparing agendas in consultation with the Chair of Governors and Headteacher,
- Convening meetings, taking and writing up the minutes and distributing documentation and other information to Governors;
- Efficiently and securely manage governor information
- Provide advice to the governing body on governance, constitutional and procedural matters, which you will learn as you develop into the role.
At Bembridge CE Primary School we believe a Clerk to the Governing Board plays a critical role. You need to be a highly organised person with attention to detail. You will have general administration experience such as minute taking and meeting organisation, be able to demonstrate a diplomatic approach to communication and be able to maintain confidentiality. Specific training on governance within a school will be provided.
Governing Board meetings usually take place on site in the school, in the afternoons or evenings, although, some may be held online via Microsoft Teams. The role is home based, so it is essential therefore that the Clerk has access to a computer/laptop and internet. Attendance is required at Governing Board meetings and IOW LA briefing Sessions.
