We are recruiting for Customer Services and Information Governance Officers in our Customer Services Team.
These important role answers statutory requests made under the Freedom of Information Act, Environmental Information Regulations, and Data Protection Act. This is where our team can really make a difference and help customers with information that may not be easy to find. You will also support colleagues in achieving data privacy compliance.
You will manage enquiries and corporate complaints, ensuring we help customers find resolution and learn from our complaints and improve our services.
These rewarding role will allow you to have a real impact on our service users' experience, supporting our agenda to continuously improve the quality and consistency of the customer experience across the Council.
You will be involved in reviews of our policies and guidance to ensure up to date interpretation of legislation and to reflect shared learning and best practice.
We are looking for two enthusiastic individuals who can offer a 'hands-on' approach from day one and with a strong belief in delivering excellent customer service.
Hours of work: There are two posts, one full time at 37 hours per work and one part time at 24 hours per work. If you have a preference, please let us know in your application.
The part time post-holder’s essential working hours are 10.00am-12.30pm on Thursdays and the rest of the hours and days are to be agreed (within Council office hours). Both post-holders are hybrid working, with some days in County Hall, Lewes, and some days with the option of working at home.
You will need excellent abilities and skills in communication and working collaboratively with others and interpreting complex information. Attention to detail, negotiation skills, accuracy, and the ability to plan and anticipate conflicting pressures, and work to tight deadlines are also essential to this role.
You will need to demonstrate previous experience in a customer facing role, developing, and implementing service improvement for customers.

Additional information
Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is part-time or term-time only.
Work Permits: we may be able to obtain a Work Permit for this post but this is subject to meeting the requirements of the UK Border Agency’s Points-based Immigration System.
