MST-CAN CRISIS CASEWORKER
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Knowsley MST-CAN service as a Crisis Caseworker.
We are looking for a suitably qualified person to join our small and friendly team. As a Crisis Caseworker, you will support the work of the MST-CAN Therapists in the development and delivery of MST-CAN intervention to help establish positive and lasting change in the families you work with.
MST-CAN works with the families of children open to Children’s Social Care who are at risk of removal due to physical abuse or neglect. The aim is to work therapeutically with the families, following the MST-CAN model, to significantly reduce risk so that children can remain safely at home. The ability to work with children and adults facing multiple and complex difficulties is therefore essential.
You will work intensively with the families open to the service, supporting the MST-CAN Therapists in offering direct intervention to children and families. You will develop links with other local agencies to ensure a systemic support network for families and be able to work in a flexible way; this will include occasional evening and weekend working.
You will be given full training in the MST model and MST-CAN adaptation techniques as well as being supported throughout interventions by the MST-CAN Supervisor, MST-CAN Expert and a local Psychiatrist. You will also receive close peer support from your MST-CAN colleagues.
You must be able to attend the MST 5-day training, MST-CAN 4-day training and 4-day trauma training which may be away from the locality and require overnight stays.
If you enjoy working in a challenging yet rewarding role with ongoing learning and strong supervisory/team support, then this may be the job for you.
Interview dates - 13th & 14th December 2023
If you’d like to discuss the role further before applying, please call Sarah Ritson, MST-CAN Supervisor, on 07810054008 for an informal conversation.
